Re: Album: The White Stripes
I was doing some record shopping while in Athens and found a 12" pic disc of the debut album
There is an insert behind the pic disc
I guess this is a bootleg?

The D might indicate XL Deutschland. I have always wondered if this is a boot, but it is still a nice piece.ChelseaBoots wrote:look at the cat no. it says XLPD 149. not entirely sure but as far as i know XL uses XLLP for vinyl.trickster wrote: I guess this is a bootleg?

XLLP for LP XLPD for Picture Disc, I would think it's legit.

Pretty sure this is a boot, but one of the better ones. I have a copy, and cant remember but the run our groove is all wrong. Very unlikely they would make new stampers for a low run PD. Hope I am wrong though.
Don't believe the 60's was the golden age of pop. You glorify the past when the future dries up.

Original SFTRI 12” (Red Labels, Light Gray Film and Insert)
Hey, what is meant here: Light Gray Film? Is this part of the label, possibly the lettering? Somebody please help.

He's referring to the "film" strip artwork on the cover.makers888 wrote:Original SFTRI 12” (Red Labels, Light Gray Film and Insert)

Re: Album: The White Stripes
Is there a site where I can physically see scans of this sort of thing? I didn't realize there were so many different Sympathy pressings. I had the red labeled LP, but, not sure about the cover. I just want something to compare to. Thanks!7th_son wrote:He's referring to the "film" strip artwork on the cover.makers888 wrote:Original SFTRI 12” (Red Labels, Light Gray Film and Insert)

Re: Album: The White Stripes
These are the sleeves of some of the versions. Missing are the 2008 XL re-release and the Rainbo Sympathy pressing (which only seems to exist as a white label pressing in a white inner sleeve).
The central one is the first SFTRI pressing. Top-left is SFTRI black label; bottom-left is SFTRI red label later version; top-right is XL original version and bottom-right is V2

Re: Album: The White Stripes
I have one more question about these. Is there only an insert in the very 1st "original" pressing?
