Re: Saturday Night Live
But seriously, that Digital Short. I'd bet money Samburg wrote it for Jack and for some reason Jack said no. Andy's wearing a suit very similar to Jack's from the cover of Elephant, Keenan is wearing a uniform much like Jack's on the cover of the Upholsterers release and the song was straight up written to sound like a Jack White song. I keep thinking how hilarious it would have been if it featured Jack instead of Andy.

It would have been the only hilarious thing in the show, if so!

Re: Saturday Night Live
On my 5th listen of "16 Saltines" and I really don't know what I was thinking earlier. I ran the sound through an audio editor and upped the volume now I'm sitting here under headphones completely blown away. The SNL volume was way too low and this song works much better with just the audio, turned up really really loud. Wow.

Am I the only one who wouldn't be surprised if this was a lost upholsterers song?

Re: Saturday Night Live
like shane said, i wonder about that digital short. seems like an opportunity missed - i wonder if jack turned it down? also, kid rock for mitt romney? apart from the fact this is high-larious in real life, how freaking funny would it have been for jack to be playing kid rock?
he is everything i hate...

Did you listen to the lyrics? I think this is a little closer to home.TheHen0 wrote:Am I the only one who wouldn't be surprised if this was a lost upholsterers song?
Don't believe the 60's was the golden age of pop. You glorify the past when the future dries up.

I just meant the opening guitar riff.flattop2001 wrote:Did you listen to the lyrics? I think this is a little closer to home.TheHen0 wrote:Am I the only one who wouldn't be surprised if this was a lost upholsterers song?
I now it's not, because of how this album was all Jack and stuff.
I was surprised by the flange or phase shifter pedal he used, I've never heard him use anything like that.
