TMR-258 - The Gillis Family - You Are My Sunshine
Someone over on the Facebook groups brought this record to my attention. I wasn't going to share because it seemed like a strictly private pressing but it has a TMR catalog number so it's in the game. I had no idea it even existed. Pretty cool.

I wonder how this record surfed up to the public. A family member who sold it, or a family member who now listed it on discogs for some reason?
At least you would think this record was only given to family and not friends.

Looks like a user called "chipmate" submitted it to Discogs. Could be friend, family, ex-employee. Who knows? I haven't seen evidence of any selling or changing hands in any way, though there are some on Facebook hinting they may have one.Datch wrote:I wonder how this record surfed up to the public. Yeah, a lot of people catalog on discogs just to have a record of their collection for value purposes in the case of a disaster...or just for archive purposes. Whatever it is, they could just be adding it to their collection for personal reasons and not resale.shaneoftheroad wrote:Looks like a user called "chipmate" submitted it to Discogs. That's pretty freaking cool.

It's just that I find this something to be personal, not meant to be known out in the open for outsiders but only close family. Whether a record is actually sold or not.arewhyehen wrote:Yeah, a lot of people catalog on discogs just to have a record of their collection for value purposes in the case of a disaster...or just for archive purposes. I see it as a keepsake for the family...

I'm not sure anyone will spend that much on a Third Man record right now. We old-schoolers crave the OG releases and the new guys think anything over $100 is ridiculous for anything. But good luck to the seller. I'd love to see the market become active again.

Very cool indeed. Makes you wonder how many others like this exist? If memory serves me correct, aren't there other number gaps in the TMR catalog?
Edited to add, looking at the eBay seller's history, looks like they have sold many rare? special? TMR items over the years. Makes you wonder.

I'd guess most of us know who it is.ehartsock1991 wrote:Very cool indeed. Makes you wonder how many others like this exist? If memory serves me correct, aren't there other number gaps in the TMR catalog?

The timing on this is ...Brilliant?dunedin wrote:https://www.ebay.com/itm/JACK-WHITE-THE ... Sw1xVbCfJi
Also looks like it may have prevented the other listing from hitting its reserve?

I have the feeling it's the same person? Trying again with a different account, now without saying the reserve so somebody can't bid one cent under itStl_ben wrote:The timing on this is ...Brilliant?dunedin wrote:https://www.ebay.com/itm/JACK-WHITE-THE ... Sw1xVbCfJi
