But what do you think an original test pressing would go for?jrfhoutx wrote:Wow, $271.66...

Now what was that someone was saying about it being a reissue and not an original? Almost double what that original went for a day or two ago.

Re: Grimtale Records
Probably $300-350. The original sold right around the current price point for originals, and if the Grimtale reissue holds the current trend of ~$30-50 for regulars, ~$100-140 for variants, and ~$200-300 for test presses, I'd say $300-350 would be right on par with the price trends... Though I do wonder what it would have pulled had it been an accepted test press and not a rejected one...

Interesting, do you think it would be worth more as an accepted TP? Could be.
I think if i had the choice I'd go for the rejected TP, no other copies of that 7" coming out.

Just because it sold for that much, doesn't make it right. We are all crazy. Look at most RSD releases within a few days of RSD.jrfhoutx wrote:Wow, $271.66...

I got that deep into variants once before with a collection, please shoot me if I go there again, it will drive you crazy I promise...
But nice stuff for sure.

I thought that to. Far less of this particular TP then normal, plus its of a pressing that won't ever be heard due to plate issues on one side. Possibly rarest grim 7" as far as even trading for or acquiring? I'm thinking so.chris865 wrote:Interesting, do you think it would be worth more as an accepted TP? Could be.

Re: Grimtale Records
Its personal opinión and Im sure theres people on both sides of this argument,, I,personally would pay more for a rejected test press because they are much more rare than an accepted one,, a ny test press is valuable because its rare not because it sounds good ,,chris865 wrote:Interesting, do you think it would be worth more as an accepted TP? Re: Grimtale Records
How can the price be wrong? Someone obviously valued it at that, and other Grim test presses have garnered similar prices. Just because one person wouldn't pay that much for it doesn't make it a wrong price, just valued at different levels by different people...
I'm inclined to agree that the rejected would be more valued than the accepted, simply because that set of plates will never be use to press anything other than the test pressings, but that's just my opinion... And I suppose it would depend on just how many of them surface compared to the accepted test press, but who knows, as stoutr pointed out we're all a bit nuts when it comes to this kind of stuff.

I guess there's gonna be a video of the rest being destroyed by Grim, so I figure less of this specific record to be had than any other Grim pressing to date.

Well that's 4 in favour of the rejected TP over a regular.
Auction prices for anything are just what at least two people are willing to pay for a particular object they desire.
