I believe I deserve a hearty round of applause, people! I said the following on Feb. 23 over at the "Blunderbuss Listening Party" thread . . .

I'll give you half a point.... I wonder if he'll do the Robert Palmer bit.

I say 0 points until a show is actually played and we can see if thats how it is or not.

I don't think these shows will be half as spontaneous as the White Stripes shows. With lots of musicians it's hard to stray off the Album version of the song, it'll be tough for everyone to pick up on his cues for solos etc. Unless it's a good jam band of course..

Unless he's rehearsed the hell out of these people. Though, of course, the Racs and DW were (are?) also nowhere near as spontaneous as the Stripes. Either way, this is gonna be interesting in so many regards.

Half as spontaneous as the Stripes would be about 100 times as spontaneous as most other bands.higherlimits wrote:I don't think these shows will be half as spontaneous as the White Stripes shows.
Don't believe the 60's was the golden age of pop. You glorify the past when the future dries up.

If this whole 2-band thing is true, I think it'd be amazing if he did this for his 2 songs on SNL. Confuse the hell outta people when he plays the second song and it's a completely different band.

I don't think anyone who isn't watching specifically because Jack's on the show would even notice. If I watch and there's some random band I don't really notice who all is in the background.

I'm definitely interested in his backing band(s), and bet there's more than a few of us here who feel the same way too.

I guess that means I'll have to catch at least 3 shows to make sure I see both elementshigherlimits wrote:Yeah, I'm just saying people who don't care about Jack won't notice.woodisgood wrote:I'm definitely interested in his backing band(s), and bet there's more than a few of us here who feel the same way too.
