I really dont want to spend any of my weekend with 100,000 people in a field in Hackney. Not even for Jack White

Maybe it's my age but, Radio 1s BIG WEEKEND just seems like a non-travelling version of the Radio 1 Road Show with Keith Chegwin. There is a problem with FREE festivals. Standing in a field full of wankers who didn't pay for the privilege to see the bands, and therefor probaly have no interest in any of them does not sound like fun. GRUMPY OLD GIT

Jeez - Remember what it was like to be young skint and in need of a music fix.
Sure there will be a ton of people there with no interest in a lot of the artists but
thats promotional events for you. My guess is there will be another gig or two close to
the event and the gig may well pay for White plus entourage to travel here.
I think even if you did want to go you've close to zero
chance of a ticket - 50% tickets are going to Hackney folks.
20-30 to a few other London boroughs. Not many tickets left to 'win'
after that.

I registered and am trying just for the hell of it. It's a Jack White gig at the end of the day. I'd be crazy not to.

I used to live in bloody Hackney.
But I'm immensely cheered by the thought of Jones the Voice AND PK the Killer on the same song.
