I forgot to mention I had an extra ticket since my brother bailed on me. I sold it for $10 out front. Man that bought it sure was a happy camper. Explained to him how to get the poster. Was nice to put a smile on someones face!

I may be driving 11+ hours to see Pokey in CT in July...

Will hellosmith be the first swirler I interact with outside of the interwebs?
Stay tuned folks...

I met him as well on Tuesday!
Some friends and I talked with him for a good thirty minutes, exchanged some contact information and went our separate ways.
I had the entire band, minus Alison, sign my LP as well.
Such a great experience.

Agh! Always remember; bring a sharpie! I don't leave for a concert without one.
Especially with Pokey. He's always willing to sign.
Some Australian guy next to me literally had him sign a handful, HANDFUL of 7"s.
Ill take a look at your photos now too!

Who's Alison?

They are definitely a very approachable band. I've talked to Adam &/or Ryan at almost every one of their shows I've gone to, and Pokey and Joey a couple of times. Ryan told me a hilarious story last week about the recording of Machine Gun Silhouette, about how he and Jack were making a concerted effort to sing "rainbow clee-up", not "rainbow clip". This apparently led to them riffing on all sorts of words that way, like "Do you want some dee-up?". If you ever have the chance to talk to Ryan, be sure to ask him about Big Muddy Records. He'll talk your ear off and turn you on to some terrific music.

The guy who was talking to Pokey ahead of me told him that, as much as he wishes them success, he hopes they will always play small, intimate venues. I gotta agree with that, it would be such a shame to miss out on experiences like this before and after shows.
