Even if I miss things, it'd be great to at least have a chance at obtaining a truly unique item, not just a "damaged"/"slightly imperfect" Vault release or leftover tri's and whatnot. I think if they put up one of those TMR ties for like $75 I daresay it'd last very long once discovered.

Here's a question: If a test pressing of Icky Thump mono showed up in the Vault store and the price was $400, do you think it would sell in ten seconds or ten days?
I think it would sell in seconds. I think at $1000 it would sell in a day.

Another thing I want, probably much to the consternation of many here! :) If they're going to have a decent multitude of items to sell (i.e., takes 2 or 3 pages to see everything), I think it'd be great to have the prices NOT go high to low or low to high; have all the prices mixed up. Make it so people have to take a moment to see what's there. Otherwise, if it's high to low, people are simply going to just go for the high-vaule items first, and I see that as unfair. Mix it all up!

If Icky Thump Mono showed up in the vault store, even a test pressing, at $400, Third Man will officially have become flippers themselves and that would be the end of it for me.

I'm not really into the idea of paying for a vault membership for the pleasure of being bent over, ebay style.
I see your point; not saying I agree or disagree, as it was just a sort of "see how the people feel" kinda question. The thing is, one point of view could be: Originals regularly go for over $200 now. A test pressing would clearly be very special. What are the chances they sell it for, say, $100, then the buyer simply flips it for $300+ on eBay? Would people "rather" TMR got the dough?

I don't want TMR to do something like this (value markup on a super-rare item). But, the case could be made for them getting the dough rather than a flipper.
True, I think it's an interesting discussion. Ultimately, nobody selling limited products can control what happens post-purchase in the collectors market with pricing. That's just market stuff. This idea is a catch 22 of sorts. Third man hates flippers... Third man SHOULD be the one getting the payday on the item... But by doing so two things happen: They start running part of the business with aspects of a flipper mentality, a mentality they claim to loathe, and the aftermarket collector market will remain unchanged, and instead of us paying $300 on ebay for the rare item we couldn't get our hands on when third man sold it, we'll be paying 500-700 for it now instead.

If it's anything like the vault music and video offerings, I'm not expecting much. At all. Think online version of the mojo chair.

I've read that. They're basically admitting they're being hypocritical, but "we're american" so so what. That was my takeaway.

It still doesn't change the fact that by doing that, they're only exacerbating the effects on the collector market. And further, I haven't seen them doing this since this controversy in 2010, so clearly they thought better of the idea. Wisely.

I'd buy one for $1K in seconds.

How are people claiming their entitled to discounted limited stuff because they pay for a vault subscription? Isn't the vault the same price that it's always been? The vault store is an additional benefit you're getting for free.

As far as higher initial costs leading to higher aftermarket costs, that's just not the case. The Gatsby, Conan tri, LFR and TWS splits were all sold at higher than normal prices and there wasn't a correlating spike in secondary prices. The only difference is whether TMR or flippers get the extra cash. I don't have a problem with flippers, but I'd still rather give my money directly to TMR.

In response to the original question, I'd prefer more ILB type stuff. Not necessarily super rare, just different and interesting. Give me some cool looking vinyl or even alternate album artwork type stuff. I prefer random and interesting new stuff over a clearance sale of old tris. Save that for refresh-a-thon 2.

Do you think that old VP will be remake in the vault store or it's over for ever ?
I really want the VP8 but it's very hard to find it and expensive.
