Does anyone know pressing numbers for vault releases?
I don't know if this deserves it's own thread or not, but as a collector, it would great to find out how many of each vault issue was pressed. TMR state clearly the numbers of glow-in-the-dark, tri-colour etc variations on standard releases, but if my understanding is correct, vault issues are based totally upon pre-subscribed demand.
Following other threads, vault issue 3 doesn't seem as popular as the first 2 & I guess future packages may also vary, so might this make issue 3 more 'valuable' in the longer-term as less numbers would be pressed?

Re: Does anyone know pressing numbers for vault releases?
I chatted with Swank in LA, and he said my 'guess' of around 2,650 for the first Vault subscription was "suprisingly close". He said he was going to get the numbers out, but as with everything at TMR, it is a mystery, rapped in an enigma, disguising itself as a "How To Make Money Selling Vinyl" trade conference discussion.
I got that deep into variants once before with a collection, please shoot me if I go there again, it will drive you crazy I promise...
But nice stuff for sure.

The less people who SUB for vault 3, the higher the value of the records.

Around LA popup time there was a rumor for 2300 subs.
In another note I made a 2nd Vault subscription just to get a 2nd compilation 12".

I suspect that they gain more new subscribers each time than they lose from us who dropped multiple subscriptions.

So if I record myself taking a crap in the bathroom and press that to vinyl and only make 5 copies, they've got to be worth a couple hundred a piece right? Same logic right? You've got to take into account the quality an collectability of the product. Pressing numbers don't mean shit if their is no demand.VoodooChild wrote:The less people who SUB for vault 3, the higher the value of the records.

Welcome aboard, Voodoo Child. Pay no attention to the (crapping) man behind the curtain. We don't.

I think what he means is later on when the collectibility is higher the demand grows. If the demand grows with less product to obtain the higher the price. But I'm sure you already knew that

Don't believe the 60's was the golden age of pop. You glorify the past when the future dries up.
