The Ultra SCs used to be called the Black Faces.

Well the Ultras or whatever they are called are pretty fantastic. Saw them at TMR with The Black Belles I think it was and they rocked. Do they have any releases available? Hope they do something with TMR.

Grim has a lock down on the upcoming Ultra's from the Vault Party. Other than that, we are waiting for an album.

All TMR fanboyism aside, I just don't see what the big deal was about the Ultras S/C the night of the BB show. They were sloppy as hell and unrehearsed - I expected more on the TMR stage. Sometimes you can compensate lack of instrumental skill with sheer volume (i.e. early Flaming Lips) but if you're in Jack's house you better bring some lightning with the thunder, especially if you're playing garage/punk/blues.

Getting back on track - I am stoked to see my buddy in Cheap Time for the first time on the TMR stage. As evidenced by the bulk of the black and blue series, TMR almost always brings out the best in people!

Will be at this show. Can't wait. I have a feeling it's going to get quite crazy in there with the lips playing. Think this will be a show that I won't mind standing off to the side.
