How many did they sell at the rrs?
I'd say 50 there and 50 for rsd 2013....

At least 3 went to contest winners. You know they sent at least one, probably a small handful, to Gibby. They usually hold on to a few "for later". I bet they sell less than 50 at SXSW. I also would bet that if they have them at RSD, you won't see all that are left being sold.

If the catalog says only 100 pressed, I'm almost positive they sold them all at SXSW. I was about 30 people back in line and by the time they opened up the truck, there was definitely around a hundred people in line. I had to take off right away after I got mine, but they sent out a tweet about an hour or 2 later that they were sold out of them. My guess is that they sold 100 of them, but I could be wrong

Is the flexi double sided? I know that can be accomplished now.

That's a nice looking rib cage. It is fun to see how different each one of these is. Hopefully we can get quite a few pics in this thread to compare. I'm thinking I will never own one, so I want to live vicariously through those who were lucky enough to snag this beauty.

Gibby Haynes is one of the guests on The Daily Show this Tuesday 25 March with Amy Yates Wuelfing

Amy Yates Wuelfing is the co-author of "No Slam Dancing, No Stage Diving, No Spikes," which was written with Steven DiLodovico. The book is an oral history of City Gardens, a legendary dive bar and concert venue in Trenton, New Jersey. City Gardens hosted a long list of some of the most respected punk, metal and alternative bands during the 1980s and 90s. The host of The Daily Show himself once worked as a bartender at the club. Gibby Haynes is the lead singer of Butthole Surfers; his band came close to setting City Gardens on fire during a live show in 1987.

There was an Eastern European woman on the What's Spinning group on Facebook talking about this about a year ago. So fascinating! The flex-rays were passed from kid to kid, sharing the gospel of rock and roll in a society that forbade it. Makes you think differently about collecting just for the sake of collecting instead of listening - those things were copies of copies of copies, played until the surface noise was louder than the music, but more valuable to those listeners than any triple decker record is to us. Really cool stuff.

I agree, I really just posted it because it was so interesting - I am always impressed at the lengths people went to in Soviet Eastern Europe to try and keep their cultures from stultifying
