Jack White Q&A

Post by higherlimits »

White Swirl is pleased to announce a very special holiday Q&A session with none other than Jack White.

With a list of accomplishments longer than almost any other musician of our generation he needs no introduction. He has been named "Man of the Decade" by Uncut magazine, was invited to the White House to honour Sir Paul McCartney, is the winner of eight Grammys, was featured in the documentary "It Might Get Loud", and founded Third Man Records. Through his three commercially successful bands, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, he has released no fewer than 10 albums in the past 11 years going from an unknown musician in Detroit to gaining world-wide recognition as one of the marquee musicians of his time.

From Hand-Painted Lafayette Blues to Denial Twist 3"s to custom record players, Jack White has become the most collectible active musician. While others are content with just releasing their music in the standard package, Jack has always ensured that collecting his music and merchandise would be enjoyable in-and-of-itself. This spirit of collectability has created a fervent fan base of which he is always striving to please through the creation of not only new music but of never before seen products such as the Triple Decker, the Inchophone and Glow-in-the-Dark records. It is through this mentality that the community of White Swirl was born.

Have a burning question about an unknown track you heard at The Magic Stick? Wanted to know how exactly he decides what his next project will be? Want to know what exactly that Upholsterers 45 contained? This Q&A gives you the opportunity that you've been waiting for.

Q&A Guidelines

How it works:

White Swirl will be gathering questions from our members over the next week for submission to Jack White. Simply post your question as a reply to this topic and your question will be taken into consideration. All questions posted as replies to this thread will remain hidden to maintain anonymity.

Due to the sheer volume of questions that we anticipate we will be selecting the very best to submit to Jack who will then reply with answers to the best questions submitted.

Additionally to act in fairness to all members we will be limiting the number of questions that each member may submit. Each member will be restricted based on the number of posts that they have. The post count will be the number of posts that the user has on December 13, 2010.

>1000 posts - 5 questions
500-1000 posts - 4 questions
200-499 posts - 3 questions
50-199 posts - 2 questions
<50 posts - 1 question

From these questions the top 20 or so will receive answers based on quality. Should you post more than your allotted questions the first X number will be used unless specified that the new question should replace a previous one.

The deadline to submit questions is December 13th at which point the best of the best will be forwarded to be answered.

Thank you,
White Swirl
