Every #1 song on the charts

Post by Hamptonio »

5 seconds of every #1 song in chart history until 1992. There are 2 parts.
This is part 1:

Pretty cool to see history unfold so quickly.

Agreed. I listened to this upload in the background from start to finish. I think the most interesting were the #1 hits that hit the charts during my lifetime. As I'm not in any interest of pop culture I was quite surprised what did become #1 hit songs during my time. It's almost embarrassing considering how many great songs were out there in the early/mid 70s.

Not being a fan of a lot of this music i was actually surprised at how many of the songs I recognized...I guess I'm not so narrow minded after all :)
Hey, it's just a fucking record. Chill.

That raises a great point, especially with the folks that say "Music is nothing like it used to be", assimilating 2011 with Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, etc etc yawn.
I hope those people realize that in 1992, we definitely had Nirvana, but we also had Color Me Badd, Jon Secada and Michael Bolton.
In the early 80s, amazing hardcore bands were forming and so was REO Speedwagon.
It's the same with every generation...saying that modern music sucks is just lazy. Some people don't venture out further than the radio. That's a scary thought, especially with the internet and the insane amount of music right at our fingertips.
