The Kills “learned a lot” from Jack White about recording their “bigger sounding” new album.

Singer Alison Mosshart has returned to the group for fourth album ‘Blood Pressures’ after making two records and touring with The Dead Weather, which includes Jack, and said she learned a lot during that time which was useful in the studio with her main band.

She said: “It’s a bigger sounding record but it’s still a Kills record. We’ve been using a Mellotron and a bass guitar, which sounds really f***ing cool.

“I learned a lot from working in the studio with Jack White. He’s a fast, one-million-ideas-a-minute man. He’s really inspiring.”

Although Alison has been away from the two piece band - which also includes multi-instrumentalist Jamie Hince - and their minimal sound has changed greatly since they started with only a guitar, drum machine and vocals in 2000, she says their intentions haven’t changed.

She described the album’s sound as: “Guitar heavy, fast tempo with both me and Jamie singing. The Kills is my home. It’s my family, it’s been my life since I was 20 and I’ve grown up with it. I will do until the day I die.”

Got my presale tickets for Amsterdam.
Don't know what they sound like so I'll experience their music for the first time live wich doesn't happen very often.
I'd like to sleep 100 days, my feeling has gone, flesh cold and numb.

For anyone interested, first pressing of the LP is going to be on colored vinyl...its on the domino pre-order page somewhere

from a rep over at domino,
we don't have our run numbers totally figured out just yet, no more than 1k for North America though. the colored vinyl will definitely sell out

RAGGA KILLS BABY
What a sweet track, love those dirty sounding chords. Tried to pre-order myself a copy right after listening to it but the Domino site is down at the moment. :( Settled for downloading the single off of Itunes for now.
