Vinyl Recommendation Thread

Post by rival »

I just wanted to start this thread because since I've been recently introduced to buying 7"s, I've come to the realization that there is so much awesome shit out there I don't know about. From Bands to limited runs to creative wax/packaging I'm lost with all the links. I was hoping people could post sale links to any interesting/awesome/creative vinyl they think others here would like to check out/buy.

Of course, mods can delete this and everyone can point and laugh at me if the majority (or vocal minority) think this is a stupid topic to start.

i've mentioned this label already, but hozac records releases a lot of straight up rawk n rowl. they also do a record club where they send ya 7''s every few months. the dum dum girls, smith westerns, nobunny, the fresh n onlys, plus a ton more amazing bands have released stuff on this label.

Bigger contemporary garage/punk/indie labels:
In The Red Records
Matador Records
Douchemaster Records
Goner Records

Some friends run this label/mailorder and carry some other micro-label garage/punk/hardcore jams in their shop. One of their bands is putting out their new record on Hozac up there^.

This is a pretty good spot for vinyl in limited runs with Nashville ties as well.

Quoted from the website: “Thanks Ben Blackwell and Ben Swank for letting me pick your beautiful brains…”

Yeah, I've been on that site before looking at the Pujol and Turbo Fruits stuff.

Here's a band called Action Makes. I work with the Bass player and they just released their first LP back in December. They've been together for almost 4 years now and they're just starting to make some noise around these parts...Personally, I think they're pretty awesome...

Here is a link to their Facebook page if you want to hear a few of their tracks...http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/page ... 7367454383
