White Swirl is very happy to announce that Mr. David Swanson will be the focus of our latest exclusive Q&A. Vocalist and Moog synth player, Mr. Swanson’s history with Third Man Records dates back to the early turn of the century and the origin of TMR’s label collaboration with V2 Records when Jack White produced his band, Whirlwind Heat’s, debut album Do Rabbits Wonder?. Poster enthusiasts will be reminded of those beautiful, but pesky and difficult to find, 2003 tour posters by Rob Jones when Whirlwind Heat toured with The White Stripes in support of Elephant and White Blood Cells. David is also a talented photographer and cinematographer. Dating back to 2001, he has photographed and filmed The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather, while recording and touring. Recently released work includes the filming of the secret B shows on The White Stripes tour of Canada in Under Great White Northern Lights and camera operation during the filming of Under Nova Scotian Lights documenting the 10th Anniversary show in Glace Bay. His work is featured on the album cover for Horehound and Karen Elson’s debut 45 The Ghost Who Walks. Point is, the man has been through thick and thin with TMR and we are extremely excited to give you this opportunity to ask David your burning questions.
