12. Why did The White Stripes "make it" when so many other bands in Detroit were doing similar things and failing?
Ben Swank: This comes up a lot, and it’s been discussed in plenty of other places. Personally, I love a lot of those bands, but there was always something next level about The White Stripes musically and creatively. I mean, you’ve seen them play right?! They were special from day one.
