I love everybody that offers items I'm looking for.
I'm the one that decides what I want and how much I'm prepared to pay for it.

Re: FLIPPERS!
In life, you pay for what you value. If you can't get to Nashville, or Bonnaroo, or Detroit, or OKC, or wherever the rare stuff ends up, then you gotta step up. If I can't afford to buy a record for $100 (which I can't) but my wife can get an extra copy of a BnB which I can then trade for a rare record of equal value (i.e. $20,) then what is the harm? Trades are about the only way I can get a rare record that I want unless I made it to the event. Though I live near Nashville, being a teacher makes Tuesday releases prohibitive.
And yes, my feedback will indicate that I have sold two records to happy Swirlers, records whose proceeds went to guess what...buying more records.
*EDIT: PS, let's remember that right now, London is burning, Seoul is under water, and the largest refugee camp in the history of mankind is growing bigger in Africa, and we are worried about obsolete, impractical, colorful, nifty little plastic discs that most people in the world don't care about. Let's ratchet down the drama, shall we?

Does this include items that came to your possession through US mail or only items personally purchased from TMR Nashville?elduderino wrote:i've never flipped a thing.

I like flippers. They get me all the shit that is released 4000 miles away from my front door. Flippers are important to moi.

Re: FLIPPERS!
I've never stood in line at TMR, bought something and sold it for more. However, I buy stuff daily with the sole intention of making a buck. It helps support my serious addictions...
So if I'm a flipper, or a hipster, or a pimpster, I don't really give a flip. It's all good.

Re: FLIPPERS!
It's a delicate balance for sure. I have no problem when a flipper finds something somewhere unadvertised (from a friend, a thrift shop, yard sale, etc...) and sells it for full flipper prices. If the flipper hadn't found the item then the collector would likely have never found it for himself. So, while it hurt the pocketbook, the flipper actually helped the collector.
My problem comes when the flippers hunker down in the dirt with collectors at advertised releases. It wouldn't be a problem if EVERYONE in line walked away with the item but more often than not a few collectors are left out in the cold (sometimes literally) while a few flippers get to turn a profit.
So I can't give a straight "hate them" or "love them" or "don't care" answer. All depends on the circumstances. But I do like this thread.
