Shipping stuff to the US - recommendations post Covid

Post by Kaber »

Hello,

Has been a while.

Every so often I ship stuff to collectors in the US.

Typically would use my local post office with tracking if the item was important enough.

Delivery at the other end by USPS.

Have had a few bad experiences of late where the item is tracked as ‘delivered’ and small print says dropped off to porch or such like.

Last item was a poster in a tube which allegedly sat on a neighbours porch for a few weeks and was soaked through.

My question is - are there other postal services who leave a card if no one is home or are they all like that?

USPS has a signature required option. Maybe you can request that on an international post on your end?
Our other 2 carriers (UPS or Fed Ex) also leave packages at the door.
Sometimes I hear them knock, but they are gone before I answer the door.
"Porch Pirates" are also an issue here.
