ISO Black Jack Davey on Vinyl?

Post by frankay39 »

Hey fellow swirlers, as a younger and less educated Jack fan than most of you, I was wondering if Jack's cover of Dylan's Black Jack Davey is available in either a 7" or on any LP's? I haven't had any luck finding out this information through google, I figured one of the JW Illuminati here might have more info haha. It is one of my favorite songs even though it is a really deep cut, so any info would be great. Thanks in advance!

I think it's on a couple of bootlegs but not sure about officiall.
The song is one of my favorites goes back way before Dylan, though TWS version is taken from his. It's a traditional song "little musgrave and lady barnard" check out Matty Groves ( sandy Denny) and raggle taggle gypsy ( Waterboys) for versions closer to the original. Interested to hear what you think.

Thanks the for link acidman I just worry about quality on a bootleg like that, but it is BJD on vinyl so you did find what I asked for technically, so thanks! If anyone has this record and knows how it sounds, let me know. As for you flattop, nice advice, those versions are pretty cool as well. Always nice to see the roots of music, trace where the songs we like now come from.

Wow instant support team here, I love it! Thanks so much guys. What two colors of this exist, is one rare and one common or something? Just want to make sure I don't overspend for it haha. If anyone wants to move one, I'd be interested!

Not vinyl, but Black Jack Davey is the 3rd song on the CD version the Seven Nation Army single. I wish it had of made it onto the 7'' too. Great great version.

Thanks 7th son! I saw it was on the CD single as well but I preferred having the vinyl edition(don't we all?) I might grab that single anyways just to have a physical copy of it.
