2 microphones?

does anyone notice that jack sings with 2 mics on stage one facing the audience and one facing meg in front of the drums. does anyone have a clue to why that is?

He sings into them during different songs, I think it depends on if he needs to be closer to Meg to control the beat

Didn't the one in front of the drum kit also have some kind of pedal effect connected to it? An octave splitter or something?

Generally the one near Meg has a reverb effect on it while the one facing the audience is effect free. Cannon > John the Revelator is a perfect example.

Wouldn't it be 3 microphones? (which would make more sense)
1 at the front, 1 near Meg and 1 on the right near the keyboards
