Ok, I have been passively following the pre-order hoopla for this release, but I am way confused. Can someone in the know break down the what and the where I should be ordering this from. The single release sounds great!

I noticed that the album was up for preorder on the Rise website (http://www.rise-music.co.uk) in three editions: a £10 CD, a £30 LP and a £45 LP. Very odd.

I'm lucky enough to know someone who works for EMI in the UK, so asked him about this. He hasn't given me the full details, but he did tell me that the "double LP edition" (presumably the more expensive of the two) is limited to 750 copies worldwide, of which 150 will be released in the UK. He doesn't have any more info (who's pressing it, if TMR will have a limited tricolour edition or something) but the implication of his comment is that there'll be a single LP release alongside a double LP release.
curiously the £45LP has now disappeared from their site...

I asked about this. They're not going to get their vinyl order directly from EMI but from a third party supplier so save on costs, but by doing so they can't get hold of the limited edition version.

I wish I knew what was going on with this release. I want to preorder it from somewhere but until we know what TMR are doing it seems silly to do so. Argh.

Just got this message (i ordered the double lp)
I have just had a message from EMI that the release of the Rome vinyl that you pre ordered with us has been delayed until 21st June.
This particular edition is coming to us from EMI via Third Man records.
There are cheaper imports from the Capitol imprint that will be available but these are not something we will be getting hold of.
I just thought I would let you know, and offer to cancel the order and refund your payment if you don’t want to wait until the end of June for it.
We completely understand if you don’t want to do that.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Many thanks,
Steph

Just got another message from the Rome mailing list pushing the CD/Print bundle - am sure you have got the same.

I wouldnt be surprised if they are pushing this in the hope that we'll buy it, then once its released they'll announce the deluxe vinyl offering and we'll all buy that too.

Thanks for posting this.

Really like Two Against One, The Rose With The Broken Neck and The Gambling Priest - much of the rest not so sure - doesn't hit the high bar of morricone's soundtracks.

Curious how they will spread 35 minutes over a double lp - guess they will be 10 inch records.
